C & S Solutions is a business partnership set up by Catherina Cunnane and Stephen McNicholas as part of the Student Enterprise Awards Programme.

The Transition Year Students have created a unique, innovative product called “The Silage Wrap Baler”.

It reduces the amount of space that waste such as feed and fertilizer bags, bale netting and silage wrap take up on the farm.

It is the only stand alone self contained unit that doesn’t require a motorized power source on the market.

This product is easy to use, easy to transport and is invaluable in saving time on preparation of farm waste for plastic recycling companies.

This product also aids with farm inspections from the HSA, Department of Agriculture and Bord Bia, as the Farm Plastics (Silage), Bale Netting, Feed & Fertiliser Bags are neatly stored which doesn’t impose any hazards or result in disqualifications from schemes or penalisations.

Both Catherina and Stephen come from Agricultural backgrounds so understand the importance of this product to any working farm.

Catherina is the youngest appointed member of the Irish Aubrac Society and has started her own Aubrac herd with her father now called “Derrybrack Aubracs”.

Stephen always helps out on his family farm.
